Our Story
The story of About IT Group is rooted in a key challenge we saw at the turn of the millennium: helping small to medium enterprises (SMEs) get the powerful business tools they needed to grow. We were founded in 2003 by our director, Gerrit Olivier, with a clear mission: to solve a problem we saw frustrating businesses every day. We realized that while powerful IT solutions existed, they were often too complex, too expensive, or simply out of reach for growing companies. Businesses were struggling with slow, inefficient processes and fragmented data, which held them back from reaching their full potential.
This was our initial spark. About IT Group was born out of a passion for problem-solving. Over two decades ago, our founders saw a gap in the market: businesses were struggling with fragmented, inefficient financial systems that hindered their growth. Our core focus was to become a trusted ERP partner by specializing in seamless ERP implementation services and complex financial systems integration, turning a pain point into a competitive advantage for our clients.
We started by offering on-premise ERP, providing agile business solutions tailored specifically for these enterprises. As technology evolved, we pioneered the transition to the cloud, offering Cloud ERP, Custom Development, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), and Data Analytics.
Our goal was to empower our customers by helping them efficiently deploy these powerful business solutions, no matter what their existing setup was—whether it was on-premise, private, public, or a hybrid environment.
